About the PSA Campaign:
We know communities need education tools that work. We are excited to unveil our latest tool, a new Public Service Announcement (PSA) for radio in English (:60-;-:30- and :15-second versions) and Spanish (:60- and :30-second versions).
The PSA uses humor and a “Desperate Housewives” approach to educate listeners on the benefits and importance of recycling at home. Read the scripts in English and Spanish.
To date the PSA has been distributed nationally to over 250 radio stations. But they weren’t created for mass national distribution. They were created primarily for you in mind! Use the PSA in your community by ordering copies and localizing them with your Web site or phone number for free. By doing this, you are giving stations an added reason to run the PSAs because they include local “go to” information instead of a general national Web site. Anyone running a curbside recycling program, please think of these PSAs as a free communications tool for designed to help you increase awareness – and hopefully participation – in your curbside program!

The radio PSA is available to any interested county or municipality for free. Use the spot in your local efforts. Your radio stations will be twice as likely to use the PSA if you provide local information such as a Web site or phone number.
Here are some basic instructions for ordering the PSA:
- To order a generic national version, just complete the PSA request form and select “national spot.”
- To order a free, localized version, simply complete the PSA request form and select the type of PSA (English or Spanish) you would like, supply the information you would like to add (your city name and Web site OR phone number), complete the brief form and we’ll send you a localized version of the PSA for your use. It’s that easy! And it’s free. (Limit 4 radio PSAs per community.)

Radio is a very effective way to reach residents with messages about your curbside program. We recommend you use this PSA as part of your ongoing education efforts by ordering localized versions from us at no cost and urging your local stations to air the local version of the PSA. Most communities have many radio stations, increasing your chances of having them cooperate with you.
