State of Georgia

Last summer the state of Georgia launched the You Gotta be Kidding! recycling education campaign designed to help the state meet aggressive recycling goals. The campaign relies on humor and social media to reach 24-35 year old non-recyclers and has generated tremendous buzz both in the state and beyond. Since its launch, over 168 stakeholders, representing 100 communities and companies have launched YGBK campaigns locally. Just under 300 local community events have been held, helping boost event recycling in the state by 48%, even in a down economy. The campaign is approaching the one year mark and is still going strong!
